Babul Sheikh Struggles Hard to Survive

Md. Babul Sheikh, a crippled middle aged man, abandoned by his wife and kids, struggling hard to earn his bread on a daily basis. He is a dweller of an isolated land near Rupsha river in Khulna district. Earlier in his life, he used to work as day laborer before he broke his leg falling from a date tree while collecting date juice. Since his disability, due to poverty and hunger, his wife and children left him alone. Today he looks after other people’s land and gets some food in return. The townsmen have built a small shed for his shelter.

JIBIKA recognises his suffering and dire need of basic food and clothing. Therefore it calls on donations from kind people for buying him a black goat and some poultry day old chicks, some vegetable seeds for gardening and little cash to buy some good clothes. The entire funding requirement is not likely to be more than Tk. 3000.
